How to send a booking request
- Find a listing and click ‘Book now’ — browse listings in your chosen city and click the ‘Book now’ button on the listing page you want to apply for.
- Select your move-in and move-out dates — choose the exact dates you need. Make sure they match the listing’s availability before proceeding.
- Fill in your personal details — confirm your name, contact information and a short message to the landlord. A friendly, honest introduction significantly improves your chances of acceptance.
- Add your payment information — enter your card details. No payment is taken at this stage — your card is only charged if the landlord accepts your request.
- Send your booking request — review your details and click ‘Send request’. The landlord is notified immediately and has 24 hours to respond.
What if a step doesn’t work?
- Dates not available — if your chosen dates are greyed out, the listing is already booked for that period. Try different dates or search for another listing.
- Payment not going through — check your card details and available balance. If the issue continues, try a different card or contact your bank. See My Payment Failed on Uniplaces for more help.
- ‘Book now’ button not showing — you may need to be logged into your Uniplaces account first. Sign in and try again.
What happens next?
Once you’ve sent your request, the landlord has 24 hours to accept or decline. If they accept, your payment is processed automatically and you’ll receive a confirmation email with their contact details and move-in instructions.
If they decline or don’t respond within 24 hours, your request expires automatically and nothing is charged. You can then search for another listing and try again straight away.
When will I be charged?
You are charged only when the landlord accepts your booking request. At that point, Uniplaces processes the first month’s rent plus the service fee automatically. No manual action is required from you — the payment happens in the background as soon as the confirmation comes through.
Uniplaces holds the first month’s rent and only transfers it to the landlord 24 hours after you move in — giving you time to check the property and report any issues through the 24-hour safety period.

Can I send a booking request without a Uniplaces account?

Can I send requests to multiple listings at once?
Yes — you can have multiple pending requests at the same time. If more than one landlord accepts, contact Uniplaces support immediately to cancel the unwanted booking. Cancellation fees may apply.
How long does the landlord have to respond?
Landlords have 24 hours from the moment you send your request. If they don’t respond in time, the request expires automatically and you are not charged.
Can I cancel a booking request after sending it?
Yes — you can cancel a pending request from your Personal Dashboard before the landlord responds. No charge applies for cancelling a pending request.
