Creating a Uniplaces account takes under 2 minutes and is completely free. You don’t need to add any payment details until you’re ready to send a booking request.
How to sign up
- Go to Uniplaces and click Sign up in the top right corner of the page.
- Enter your email address or click Continue with Google to sign up instantly with your Google account.
- Verify your email address — check your inbox for a verification email from Uniplaces and click the link inside. Check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes.
- Complete your profile — add your name and a short bio about yourself.
That’s it. Your account is ready and you can start searching for accommodation straight away.
What if a step doesn’t work?
- Verification email not arriving — check your spam or junk folder first. If it’s not there after 5 minutes, go back to the sign-up page and request a new verification email.
- Google sign-up not working — try signing up with your email address directly instead. If the issue continues, clear your browser cache and try again.
If neither of these fixes works, contact the Uniplaces support team directly.
Why complete your profile?
This step makes a real difference. Before a landlord accepts your booking request, they can see your profile — your name and the short bio you’ve written about yourself.
A complete profile builds trust. Landlords are more likely to accept requests from tenants who have taken the time to introduce themselves. Keep it simple: who you are, why you’re moving to the city, and when you need the accommodation. Two or three sentences is enough.
Think of it as a first impression — a friendly, honest bio goes a long way, especially if you’re a student moving to a new country for the first time.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free to create a Uniplaces account?
Yes — creating an account is completely free. You only pay when you confirm a booking, at which point a one-time service fee is added to your first month’s rent.
Can I use one account to book in multiple cities?
Yes. Your Uniplaces account works across all cities and countries where the platform operates. You can search and book in any city from the same account.
Do I need to verify my identity to create an account?
You don’t need to verify your identity to create an account or browse listings. Some landlords may request additional verification before accepting your booking request — this varies by listing.
Can I sign up with a university email address?
Yes — any valid email address works, including university email addresses. If you later lose access to that email, you can update it from your Personal Dashboard.
Can I have more than one Uniplaces account?
No — each person should have one account. If you’re having trouble accessing your existing account, use the password reset option or contact support.
