Once your booking is confirmed, your payment is processed automatically and your place is secured. You’ll receive your landlord’s contact details by email straight away — here’s what to do next.
What does a confirmed booking mean?
A confirmed booking means the landlord has accepted your request, your payment has been processed, and your accommodation is secured for your chosen dates. No further action is needed to hold your place — it’s yours.
Uniplaces holds your first month’s rent and only transfers it to the landlord 24 hours after you move in. This is the 24-hour safety period — it gives you time to check the property and report any issues before the landlord receives their money.
What email do you receive?
Immediately after confirmation, Uniplaces sends you an email containing:
- Your booking reference number
- The landlord’s name, email address and phone number
- Your confirmed move-in and move-out dates
- The property address and any move-in instructions the landlord has provided
- A summary of the payment that was processed
Check your spam folder if the confirmation email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes. If it’s still not there after 10 minutes, contact the Uniplaces support team.
What are your next steps?
Once you’ve received your confirmation email, there are a few things worth doing straight away:
- Contact your landlord — introduce yourself and confirm your arrival time. Most landlords appreciate a message a few days before move-in.
- Download your proof of accommodation — if you need it for a visa application, you can download it from your Personal Dashboard immediately after booking.
- Read about the 24-hour safety period — know your rights before you arrive. If anything doesn’t match the listing on move-in day, you have 24 hours to report it.
- Prepare your documents — depending on your destination country, you may need to register locally or obtain a tax number. See What Documents Do I Need to Rent in Europe?
Where to find your booking details
All your booking information is available in your Personal Dashboard at any time. Log in to Uniplaces, click your profile icon and select ‘Dashboard’. From there you can access your booking details, download documents, and manage your account.
The Personal Dashboard is your single source of truth for everything related to your booking — payment history, landlord contact details, and move-in information are all stored there.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my move-in date after booking is confirmed?
Date changes after confirmation require agreement from both you and the landlord. Contact Uniplaces support to request a date change — do not arrange this directly with the landlord outside the platform, as it may affect your UniTrust Guarantee protection.
What if I haven’t heard from the landlord after confirmation?
Send them a message through Uniplaces first. If you don’t get a response within 48 hours of your booking being confirmed, contact the Uniplaces support team and they’ll help you get in touch.
Can I see my payment receipt?
Yes — your payment receipt is available in your Personal Dashboard under booking details. You can download it at any time for your records or expense claims.
What happens if I need to cancel after the booking is confirmed?
You can cancel from your Personal Dashboard. The refund you receive depends on the listing’s cancellation policy and how far in advance you cancel. See How to Cancel a Booking Before Moving In for full details.
