Uniplaces has four verification levels — two related to your landlord account and two related to the property itself. Higher verification levels make your listing more attractive to tenants and increase booking confidence.
Why verification matters
Uniplaces is an open platform where any landlord can publish a listing. To protect tenants from fraud and to help your listing stand out, Uniplaces created a verification system that signals trust at every level.
The higher your verification level, the more confident tenants feel booking your property remotely. International students searching in cities like Lisbon, Madrid or Berlin are far more likely to send a booking request to a verified listing than an unverified one at the same price.
Unverified Landlord
Your personal information — phone number, email address and government-issued photo ID — has not yet been verified on your Personal Dashboard, and Uniplaces has not yet personally visited your place. This is the default state for new accounts.
We strongly recommend completing verification as soon as possible to improve your listing’s performance and tenant trust.
Verified Landlord
Your personal information — phone number, email address and government-issued photo ID — has been verified, and you have successfully hosted at least one guest through Uniplaces. Uniplaces has not yet personally visited your place at this level.
To reach Verified Landlord status, complete all three steps from your Personal Dashboard under Account → Account Verification:
- Verify your phone number — click Send verification code. You’ll receive an SMS with a code. Enter it in the Personal Dashboard and click Verify code. You can also opt in to receive booking request notifications by SMS.
- Verify your email address — click Send email. You’ll receive an email with a verification link. Click the link to confirm your email address.
- Verify your ID — click Choose Document, upload your government-issued photo ID, and click Submit document. The Uniplaces Customer Support Team will review and validate your document. The ID must belong to the account holder — if the account belongs to a company, upload the company’s ID.
Visited
A Uniplaces representative has personally visited your property to confirm its location and authenticity. This level may also be achieved when one of Uniplaces’ professional photographers has photographed your place.
The Visited badge is a strong trust signal for tenants — it means Uniplaces has physically confirmed that the property exists and matches what’s described in the listing. Contact the Uniplaces support team to find out whether a property visit is available in your area.
Exclusive
Exclusive is the highest level of recognition on Uniplaces. When a property is marked as Exclusive, it means it’s only available on Uniplaces and cannot be found on any other platform.
Exclusive properties are Uniplaces’ top recommendation to tenants. Every booking request made to an Exclusive listing is handled by a Uniplaces agent, providing a premium level of service to both the landlord and the tenant. Contact the support team to learn more about qualifying for Exclusive status.
Frequently asked questions
Is verification mandatory to publish a listing?
Email verification is required before your listing can go live. Phone and ID verification are strongly recommended — they unlock the Verified Landlord badge and significantly improve your listing’s performance in search results.
How long does ID verification take?
Once you submit your government-issued photo ID, the Uniplaces Customer Support Team will review it. You’ll receive confirmation once the document has been validated. Make sure the ID belongs to the account holder — or the company if the account is registered to a business.
How do I get a property visit?
Contact the Uniplaces support team to request a property visit. Availability varies by city and region. A visit by a Uniplaces representative or professional photographer qualifies your listing for the Visited verification badge.
What’s the difference between Visited and Exclusive?
Visited means Uniplaces has confirmed the property’s location and authenticity through a physical visit. Exclusive means the property is only available on Uniplaces, is Uniplaces’ top recommendation, and all booking requests are handled directly by a Uniplaces agent.
