Payment failures on Uniplaces usually come down to one of a few causes:
- Insufficient funds — your card doesn’t have enough balance to cover the first month’s rent plus service fee
- Card limit reached — some cards have daily or monthly spending limits that can block larger transactions
- 3D Secure authentication failed — your bank may have sent a verification code that wasn’t completed in time
- International transaction blocked — some banks block online or cross-border payments by default
- Incorrect card details — a typo in the card number, expiry date or CVV will cause the payment to fail
Step 1 — Check your card details
Go back to the payment page and verify that your card number, expiry date and CVV are entered correctly. A single incorrect digit will cause the payment to fail. If you’re copying details from a physical card, double-check each field carefully.
Also confirm that the billing address you’ve entered matches the address registered to your card — some payment systems use this for verification.
Step 2 — Contact your bank
If your card details are correct but the payment is still failing, contact your bank. Ask them specifically to:
- Check whether the transaction was blocked
- Authorise online or international transactions if they’re currently restricted
- Confirm your available balance covers the full amount
