How to Sync Your Listing Calendar with iCal

iCal sync connects your Uniplaces availability calendar with external calendars automatically. Once set up, your listings always have the most up-to-date availability with little to no effort.

What is iCal sync?

iCal is an open calendar standard that allows different calendar systems to share availability data automatically. When you set up iCal sync on Uniplaces, your confirmed booking dates are exported as a feed that any iCal-compatible calendar app can read.

If you manage your rental availability across multiple tools or calendars, iCal sync eliminates the need to update each one manually. Changes sync automatically — keeping your listing accurate at all times without any extra effort.

How to set up iCal sync

  1. Go to ap.uniplaces.com/listings and log in to your landlord account.
  2. Choose your listing and click Edit.
  3. Click ‘Update the Availability’ and paste your external calendar link into the field provided.
  4. Click ‘Sync calendar’ and then ‘Save it’.

That’s it — your availability is now synced. Your listing will automatically reflect updates from your external calendar without any further manual action.

What if a step doesn’t work?

  • Calendar link not accepted — make sure you’re pasting a valid iCal URL. It should end in .ics or contain ical in the link. Contact the Uniplaces support team if you’re unsure whether your calendar link is in the correct format.
  • Sync calendar button not appearing — make sure your listing is fully published and approved. Contact support if the option isn’t visible in your listing edit page.

How often does it sync?

Once iCal sync is set up, your availability updates automatically on a regular basis. This means there may be a short delay between an update in your external calendar and the change being reflected on your Uniplaces listing.

Troubleshooting sync delays

  • Wait a short while — syncs don’t happen in real time. Give it some time before checking again.
  • Re-save the calendar link — go back to Edit → Update the Availability and re-paste your calendar link, then click Sync calendar and Save it again to force a refresh.
  • Contact Uniplaces support — if your availability still isn’t updating after re-saving, contact the support team and they’ll investigate.

Can I set up iCal sync for multiple listings?

Yes — you can set up iCal sync for each of your listings individually. Go to Edit on each listing and follow the same steps to add a calendar link for each one.

Does iCal sync automatically confirm or cancel bookings?

No — iCal sync only updates availability data. It does not automatically confirm or cancel booking requests. You still need to accept or decline requests in your Uniplaces Personal Dashboard as usual.

What format should my calendar link be in?

Your calendar link should be a valid iCal feed URL — typically ending in .ics. Most calendar tools provide an option to copy or export a shareable iCal link from their settings. Contact the Uniplaces support team if you need help identifying the correct link format for your calendar tool.

What happens if a conflicting booking occurs due to a sync delay?

Contact the Uniplaces support team immediately. For urgent availability changes, always update your Uniplaces calendar manually — manual updates take effect immediately and don’t rely on the sync schedule.
