Santa Apolónia is a neighbourhood that was born on the edge of Lisbon’s Tejo River. The neighbourhood is at a walking distance from Terreiro do Paço and its narrow streets lead to Castelo de São Jorge. With good transportation connections, Santa Apolónia is connected to the city’s metro grid, it has many bus routes and a train station. Doca do Jardim do Tabaco, by the Santa Apolónia train station, houses group of old warehouses that are now some of the most popular spots in town, housing many restaurants. The buildings are typical Portuguese buildings that usually have big windows and balconies.
