UNIVERSITIES

Milan has 9 universities hosting 11% of Italian university students. The prestige of some of its universities makes the city one of the favorite study destinations for many international students.

Università degli Studi di Milano. This is the largest and most important public university and was founded in 1923. It has faculties distributed throughout the city, although most of them are in the area Città Studi.

Università degli Studi di Milano - Bicocca. The name of this university is given by the neighborhood where it is located. Although located somewhat away from the center, it is well connected by metro (M5), making it easy to get to.

Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. Bocconi University is one of the most famous in Italy and enjoys great fame and reputation in Europe and the rest of the world for its business studies and administration. It is located in the neighborhood of Porta Ticinese.

Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. This is a private university that was founded in 1996 next to the hospital of the same name and its academic offer focuses on medical studies. The campus is located on the outskirts of Milan, but has good communications with the center.

MILAN DISTRICT IDEAL FOR STUDENTS

Living in Milan may be more expensive than in other European cities, but it is possible to find rooms for € 500 per month. Milan is divided into nine zones, located around the historical center (zone 1).

Zone 1: Centro Storico; Zone 2: Crescenzago, Gorla, Greco, Stazione Centrale, Turro; Zone 3: Città Studi, Lambrate, Porta Venezia; Zone 4: Forlanini, Porta Vittoria; Zone 5: Chiaravalle, Gratosoglio, Vigentino; Zone 6: Barona, Lorenteggio; Zone 7: De Angeli, Baggio, San Siro; Zone 8: Fiera, Gallaratese, Quarto Oggiaro; Area 9: Garibaldi, Niguarda.

Città Studi (zone 3)

This is the university district, very well connected with the Bicocca and Polytechnic universities. It is also located relatively close to the historic center, so it is a zone demanded by students.

Porta Venezia (area 3)

Porta Venezia surprises with beautiful buildings of the nineteenth century, green areas and a great offer of leisure and cultural. Here you will find two of Milan's most important museums: the National History Museum and the Modern Art Gallery.

Navigli (zones 1 and 6)

This area is located between the historic center and Barona. Students love it as there is always something to do. It houses the Bocconi, Naba and IULM universities.
