Stratford-upon-Avon

London, United Kingdom

Stratford is the new heart of East London. A central part of the 2012 Olympics, the whole area is seeing an influx of new money. The area is hugely ethnically diverse with a minority White-British population. Home to the Olympic Park and the giant Westfield Shopping Centre, it is now a hub for international, as well as local travel. Housing in Stratford is a little cheaper than the rest of London, as it's much further out from the centre than is sometimes convenient. Rent usually starts around £125 a week and rises to £170, with bills included. Properties are usually Victorian-built shared terraced houses or small, new-build, blocks of flats. Living in Stratford is very convenient for the The University of East London's Stratford Campus. It is a slightly lengthy commute into the centre but London's main universities are certainly still accessible. It is connected to the wider city by Stratford International (Jubilee/DLR/Overground/Central) with also offers high speed rail travel to the continent on the mainline from London St. Pancras.

Los vecinos

From all corners of the world: this is one of the most richly multicultural neighbourhoods in London.

Puntos interesantes

Westfield Stratford City is one of the largest urban shopping centres in Europe, and it'll be just on your doorstep. The Olympic Park, mentioned above, is also one of the icons of the neighbourhood.

Te enamorarás de

The Olympic Park: public space and sports centre, one of the greatest London projects since we turned the century. It's also going to be the stadium of West Ham, a proud and historic football club.

El estilo de vida

Cheap, and extremely ethnically mixed. It's not the traditional postcard London: this is the melting-pot London. A good place to live, especially for the price.
