Belém is Lisbon's postcard neighbourhood. Living in Belém is living near all of the most famous monuments and the world's most loved custard tard. The neighbourhood is typical and really charming. It's close to the river, has plenty of gardens and basically one of the nicest neighbourhoods in Lisbon to live. The neighbourhood is also pretty cultural. For example: you have some awesome spots to listen to the best musicians in town (CCB is one of the top concert halls in the country). You also have a dozen great museums: modern art, ancient art - there's even a horse-coach museum! What's getting around Belém like? There's no undergrounds, but you have plenty of Trams (going to Cais do Sodré and Praça da FIgueira, the city centre). There are also dozens of buses that can take you into town, an overground train line and - if you want to go across the river, some ferry boats.
