Palazzo Pitti

The Pitti Palace houses different types of museums and temporary exhibits. The basis of the current palace dates back to 1458 when it was the residence of the powerful bank man Luca Pitti. It was then bought by the Medici family one century later and employed as the official residence of the ruling family of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
