UNIVERSITIES

Madrid has a total of 80 universities, including public and private universities. These are some of the most important and prestigious ones:

Universidad Complutense: one of the largest universities in Europe, located in the neighborhoods of Moncloa and Somosaguas.

Madrid has 21 districts that have a total of 128 neighborhoods. Some of them are perfect to live as a student. Some of the most demanded by the university students are Moncloa, Palacio, Chamberí, Salamanca, Retiro and Malasaña.

Salamanca

With beautiful buildings, prestigious restaurants with Michelin stars and numerous luxury shops, Salamanca is one of the best neighborhoods in Madrid, where many diplomats and successful entrepreneurs live.

Chamberí

It is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of the city and where many aristocrats have lived. The square of Olavide and surroundings are full of terraces that invite you to sit outside and drink a cane and some tapas. In the nearby Santander Park is perfect for walking and playing football, tennis or golf.

Malasaña

It is one of the alternative neighborhoods par excellence and where Movida was born in the eighties. Here there are bars, restaurants, bookstores and cafes, so it is an ideal area to live during your university.

Moncloa

Given its proximity to the University City, Moncloa is one of the best areas of Madrid to enjoy the university nightlife.

Palacio

It is the most central neighborhood and where they are, besides the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor and the San Miguel Market. It is also a good area to go out to eat, as it houses numerous quality restaurants.

Retiro

This is where the famous Retiro park is located. It is a very quiet residential area, but very well connected to the center of Madrid, making it very convenient to live.
