Alameda is one of the biggest and most popular student neighbourhoods in Lisbon.
Because it's so close to Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), and because the rents here tend to be affordable, the student population is huge. Many apartments here are only rented to students - there are even some student residences in Alameda.
The centre of the neighbourhood is a large strip of grass, the Alameda Gardens. Here you'll find plenty of space to spread out a towel and rest in the sun, kick a ball around, or sit for picnic and beers with your squad. There's even a cool kiosk where you can seat at a table and order some very cheap, and very cold beers.
Saldanha is also a very popular neighbourhood to live if you study in Lisbon.
The area has many charming hotels, commercial buildings, three different shopping malls at a walking distance from one another - guaranteeing that you will have at hand all you need - and fantastic bakeries with delicious cakes you must try!
Surrounded by the big avenues of the city - Av. Duque de Ávila and Av. Da República - Saldanha is located in one of the most central areas of Lisbon.
With several bus routes and connection to the metro line, you can reach any part of the city without effort.
Uniplaces is creating a trusted brand for students everywhere. We believe in making finding accommodation better. We want students to have a great experience when they book a place, when they move in, and every day that they spend there. At the same time, we're always looking for trustworthy landlords who can help us deliver this great experience. We've moved the whole process of finding, choosing and booking online. It's our way of turning an old-fashioned market upside-down. It's our way of changing the world.
