Tips for find housing in Barcelona

Students in Barcelona tend to prefer central areas when they look for a room, which are well connected with the main universities, in order to guarantee a balance between studies and leisure.

The most popular neighborhoods for renting rooms in Barcelona are (from highest to lowest demand) L'Esquerra de L'Eixample, the Gothic Quarter, the Raval, El Born and the Dreta de l'Eixample.

L'Esquerra de L'Eixample is the favorite neighborhood for students, since 10.5% of them choose it as a place to live. Students are attracted by its location close to the University of Barcelona and a lively  nightlife. The average monthly rent price here is € 426.

The Gothic quarter accommodates 9.4% of university students who book through Uniplaces. The rental prices here similar to those of l'Esquerra de L'Eixample. It is one of the most charming areas of Barcelona and one of the best to live if you study at the University of Barcelona, as it is not necessary to use public transport to get around.

El Raval receives 7.5% of our student population thanks to its central location and its proximity to both the Pompeu Fabra University (10 minutes walk) and the main building of the University of Barcelona (15 minutes on foot) . To rent a room here costs on average 469 € per month.

El Born is home to a large community of creative professionals and is just a 10-minute walk from Pompeu Fabra University. The rooms in this neighborhood cost about € 462 a month on average.

Dreta de l'Eixample, the neighborhood where the famous Rambla de Cataluña is located is also highly demanded by university students, who pay € 444 a month for rooms in shared flats.

Although the demand for university accommodation in Barcelona is high, the wide offer available makes finding and renting a room easier. Uniplaces has currently over 2000 rooms of all types, from single or double bed in shared flats, to small studios and one bedroom flats for the more independent ones.
