Gaztambide is a district of Madrid that belongs to the district of Chamberí, located between the areas of Argüelles and Arapiles. It is a very dynamic and busy area full of bars, restaurants and cafes. This fact, together with its proximity to the University City, makes many university students look for rooms or apartments for students in Gaztambide and the demand for accommodation is high.
Although there is no train service from Cercanías in the neighborhood, Gaztambide has good connections with the rest of the city by metro and bus. There are two subway stops: Argüelles (lines 3, 4 and 6) and Philippine Islands (7), although Moncloa (3 and 6) is very close and is also a good option. Likewise, ten regular urban bus lines, two circular and one night service serve this area.
If you study in the University City and decide to rent a room in Gaztambide, it will only take 11 minutes to arrive by metro from Argüelles. Students at the ICADE business school will have even more luck, because they can go on foot in 5-10 minutes. It is also convenient for those who study at Universidad San Pablo CEU, since the bus ride from Argüelles (C2) takes less than 20 minutes.
