Miragaia is a colourful neighbourhood built near the Douro River. This medieval neighbourhood was built on the beach during the Discoveries Era. Nowadays the colourful quirky houses built over arches give the neighbourhood its personality. Miragaia is the place to be to truly experience the city, filled with both locals and tourists. As the sun goes down, Miragaia’s restaurants and bars open. Here you can quietly have dinner or enjoy a drink with some friends while enjoying the beautiful views of the river and of the rest of the city.
