Sitting right next to the Ciudad Universitaria of Madrid, Argüelles is one of Madrid’s favourite students neighbourhoods. The biggest selling point among young people for this area is its proximity to the Technical and Complutense universities of Madrid. Besides that, several buses leave nearby Moncloa and head to many private universities that are further away from the centre, such as the European University of Madrid, Antonio de Nebrija, Camilo José Cela, Francisco de Vitoria, and Alfonso X El Sabio. Argüelles has the best student atmosphere, but it also has calm and green spaces to relax in. The Parque del Oeste, the Dehesa de la Villa and the Manzanares River are very nice places to go for a walk, where you can relieve yourself of the city life’s stresses and even take a great picture or two. Furthermore, the Madrid River Zone is a route where you can go to walk, cycle, or skate. Another advantage of living in the neighbourhood of Argüelles is that there are plenty of shopping areas and entertainment venues nearby. Anything you need is easy to find within walking distance.
