Príncipe Real is located north from Bairro Alto. This residential area, filled with gardens and colourful buildings, is currently a shopping area for those who prefer to escape the international clothing brands and search for something unique. With the old buildings being renovated, a younger population is moving in to Principe Real, giving a new life to the neighbourhood. It’s proximity to the city’s main party spot (without the disadvantage of the loud noise) is part of this place’s charm. Life in Príncipe Real is centred around the park, the Jardim do Príncipe Real. Here you can see people having an outdoor lunch, gathering with friends or just enjoying the neighbourhood life. Just seat on one of the two kiosks and ask for a bica (coffee).
