Built as an expansion of the old city,Extramurs is a residential neighbourhood located in the southwest of Valencia. Its grid pattern combines more upscale buildings with more working-class areas. The ground floors of the local buildings house small business. Connected to the metro grid, through Ángel Guimerá metro station, this is the ideal location for students who plan to study outside Valencia. Despite being a residential neighborhood, there’s some nightlife going on at Juan Llorens Street. Jardín del Turia, the biggest green area in the city, is a very popular place to walk, do jogging or go for a picnic with friends.
