This neighbourhood built on the cost north from Porto has a fantastic beach where you can enjoy the sunny days swimming in the ocean or just have a beer in one of the bars by the end of the day. During weekends it is common to see people with their bikes or roller-skating in the recently built promenade. In Matosinhos you can find fantastic restaurants with fresh fish and shellfish. Sit down over a good Douro Wine and enjoy a nice local meal. Her you will find many parks where you can go for a stroll or relax, such as the Jardim Senhor do Padrão, Parque Basílio Teles and Parque da Cidade. The area has good transportation connections allowing you to explore the centre of Porto as well as reach several of the Universities in the area.
