Cimitero Monumentale is a residential area well connected with the city centre thanks to M3 and M5 metro stations. In fact the neighbourhood is located near Parco Sempione, ideal for a stroll or a picnic, Pinacoteca di Brera and Castello Sforzesco, two must see sites in Milan. The area is named after the second largest cemetery in Milan. Contrarily to what you may think, the cemetery is popular for the abundance of artistic and beautifully decorated tombs and extravagant monuments. The neighbourhood has good transportation links, as it is inserted in the city’s metro grid.
