Fitzrovia

London, United Kingdom

Fitzrovia is a little bit of everything London has to offer, this is the very heart of London. It’s where the centre of London starts. As a student if you can manage to find accommodation here you'll be living incredibly close to many of London's major universities and landmarks. But the rents for such a central neighbourhood are, of course, quite high. The area is intensely mixed. Oxford Street is one of the most famous shopping areas in the world, and the bars and restaurants here are exclusive and expensive. The places of Fitzrovia are mostly flats and new, modern apartments. Actual houses are rare in the area. This is central-central London, so prices are always going to be high. You're so close to London's main universities, places like: SOAS, University College London, The University of London and City University, that you can walk to your lectures. This is really rare privilege in London. You're also within a short tube ride of LSE or The University of Westminster. Fitzrovia is extremely well connected to the city centre by foot or bike, but also by several tube stations.

The neighbours

Shoppaholics, office workers and lost tourists. Although there’s quite a few University of London students living here too.

Interesting points

The BT Tower: site of one of London's tallest building.

You will fall in love with

High street shopping along Oxford Street and the incredible location, not just for the universities but for everything London has to offer.

The lifestyle

Busy, hard-working and a little diverse. Fitzrovia is a city centre paradise for shoppers and anybody who wants a noisy night out in nearby Soho.

About the city

London is a city where you will never run out of things to do. The capital of England is well known for its famous, iconic landmarks such as the Big Ben, St. Paul’s cathedral, amongst thousands and thousands more. Then there’s the British cultural heritage, best displayed by its impressive architecture and the huge museums.

However, we know that students also care a lot about a city’s nightlife and atmosphere. This city never sleeps! Pubs, bars, clubs, warehouse afterparties, you name it: London has it all.

When it comes to finding a place to live in London, you know you can count on Uniplaces to help you!
