São Bento is the center of political life in Portugal. The National Assembly is located in here, and constitutes a postcard of the city. The main thoroughfare Rua de São Bento connects the Palácio de São Bento with Largo do Rato and is a primary link to the Santos, Estrela and Amoreiras districts. The area is very nice to enjoy summer days as it has a lot of green areas and parks where you can have a delicious ice-cream (from Nanarella, of course). This is the ideal area for foodies as it has lots of pastries shops and restaurants. It's worth finding the many small restaurants in this area, starting with the Café de São Bento.
The area has good transportation links with many bus routes crossing the neighbourhood
