The area dates back to the Medieval period, when it was known for its honey production. El Clot still preserves the little streets that run between the broader ones, most recently constructed. During the 19th century, flour mills arrived followed by textile factories, turning El Clot into an important working-class industrial neighbourhood populated mainly by people from the rest of Catalunã. LES GLORIES SHOPPING CENTRE is just nearby, along with pedestrianised shopping street Carrer de Rogent, where you can find local products. The impressive Torre Agbar, 144 m of steel, glass, light and colour, defines the skyline of the neighbourhood. El Clot has good transportation connections as it houses Clot-Aragó, Barcelona’s main local train station ad it is connected to the metro grid.
