Xabregas is a neighbourhood built by the river. This neighbourhood is located in a typical area where young artists are using the abandoned warehouses as canvas. The area is going through a rehabilitation programme that aims to preserve its history and at the same time turn it into a Creative and Entrepreneurial Pole. The area has some cultural spots such as Xabregas Monastery and The National Tiles Museum, bringing tourists to the area. Since 1980, Teatro Ibérico – was installed in the old baroque church, previously the Monastery of São Francisco de Xabregas. To move around in the city, you can catch the bus or train, the area doesn’t have connection to the city metro grid.
