Roma Tre University, despite its relatively recent inauguration, is the third oldest Roman university and the second in number of students, after the University of La Sapienza.

It was created as a project of recovery and revival of a neighborhood located between Ostiense and Marconi, which was forgotten among abandoned industrial areas. Most of the current headquarters are located in old industrial buildings that have been later reclassified to house the university.

For example, the Faculty of Arts, Philosophy and Languages is located in the old facilities of Alfa Romeo, while the Department of Architecture is in the buildings of the old slaughterhouse of Testaccio. The good communication in public transport and the proximity with other economic zones of the city make finding rooms for students near Roma Tre not too complicated.

Roma Tre is made up of twelve departments offering 29 undergraduate degrees and 41 master's programs in subjects ranging from humanities such as Literature and Philosophy to Engineering, Mathematics and Physics.

Garbatella is a residential area very popular with students and offers a wide range of leisure activities from which you can go to the university on foot or by bicycle. If you prefer to live in a quieter neighborhood and also closer to the sea, you can choose EUR.

HOW TO GET TO ROME TRE

The university is so well connected to the center that it is not necessary to seek accommodation for students in the area of Roma Tre. The main faculties are located in the neighborhood of Ostiense-Marconi, through which passes the metro line B and several urban buses.

The most convenient stops are Garbatella and Basilica di San Paolo to reach the rectorate, the Department of Jurisprudence or the DAMS, while the Marconi stop is the best option for any other department or faculty.
